Anchorage Cluster Reflection Gathering
November 11 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
It’s time to gather for celebration, reflection, and planning for the Anchorage Cluster. Please join with everyone interested in community building activities and service to Baha’u’llah on Friday, November 11at the Anchorage Baha’i Center. We’ll start with a soup-for-supper at 5:30 (the soup will be provided. Side dishes are potluck.) From 6:30-8:30, we’ll share our progress in the Anchorage community and plan together for what comes next. (There will also be a Zoom option starting at 6:30 PM.)
The Area Teaching Committee is very excited to announce the upcoming reflection meeting! We haven’t met in over two and a half years in person and with this year being the first year of the Nine Year Plan, we hope all of you will be able to join us at the Anchorage Bahá’í Center on Friday, 11 November, beginning at 5:30 with a dinner followed by celebration of our community through sharing and creating plans and goals for the upcoming cycle.
This past summer, we saw many many friends come together through the global conferences planned around town, either open to all or smaller in nature. So many friends have taken many of the training institute books again or for the first time in the last couple of years, wanting to serve the community and we see it recently. There have been positive stirrings around our children, junior youth and youth especially and we want to highlight these precious ones during the reflection meeting.
As the International Teaching Centre shared with us in their continuing series known as “Reflection on Growth”, in Number 3 from August 2004 they state:
In its letter of 9 January 2001 introducing the Five Year Plan, the Universal House of Justice envisioned reflection meetings as periodic gatherings for consultation “to reflect on issues, consider adjustments, and maintain enthusiasm and unity of thought.” These would, along with other areawide gatherings, “support an intense process of action, consultation and learning.” By Riḍván 2003, the Universal House of Justice could state that “Reflection meetings at the level of clusters have become a powerful means of unifying thought and action across institutions and localities; they have lent a potent stimulus to institutional and individual initiatives in a mutually supportive spirit.”
In the spirit of unity and enthusiasm, we welcome you all to join, no matter what you have been up to since we met last. We will have a zoom option available as well for those that can’t join in person. Please see that attached below. Please reach out to the Area Teaching Committee if you have any thoughts or questions. Our email is firstname.lastname@example.org and you can call the secretary, Nycki Saxton at 907-782-9269.
With loving Bahá’í greetings,
The Area Teaching Committee
